Shahar Peer (Athlete):​

Began playing tennis at age 6 by joining older siblings, brother Shlomi and sister Shani, in tennis lessons. Peer loves traveling, reading, watching romance movies and being at home with her family and friends. She also really enjoys baking and trying new foods, especially while travelling to new cultures and experiencing the local food and spices. Peer received several awards including: Athlete of the Year in Israel (2006, 2007); Kids' Favorite Athlete of the Year in Israel (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009); Woman of the Year in Press (2009); and Key Person in Media at ceremony of Israeli Organization of Public Relations and Spokespeople. She has won five singles and three doubles titles on the WTA tour, as well as four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career. On 31 January 2011, she reached her best singles ranking of world, placing 11th. On 12 May 2008, she peaked at world, ranking 14th in the doubles rankings.
