AN ARAB ISRAELI NEWS REPORTER

Lucy Aharish (news reporter) born 18 September 1981 is an Israeli-Arab news presenter, reporter, and television host.

She currently presents the Evening Edition of the news broadcaster i24news, and serves as a morning anchor on a current-affairs show on Channel 2. Aharish is notable for being the first Arab news presenter on Hebrew-language Israeli television. Ahris works for coexistence between Jews and Arabs in Israel, and expressed moderate views and pro-Israel media.

In the evening of Israel’s 67th Independence Day ceremony in 2015, she was presented with the torch at Mount Herzl and said in her speech: "There is a scream which I’ve been trying to scream for a long time that spreads and continues to emerge ... This beacon is not mine, it is my family’s, who raised me in a unique way. It’s for all Israelis, Jews, Arabs, Muslims and Christians, without definitions. This is for all of us."
